Chukwunyere Ebube Oliver – Founder & CEO Chukwunyere Ebube Oliver is a visionary plant scientist, researcher, and innovator with over a decade of experience at the intersection of botany, plant breeding, and agricultural technology. As the founder and CEO, he leads the company’s mission to revolutionize seed processing and precision agriculture through intelligent, accessible, and sustainable solutions. Ebube purses a PhD in Agriculture from the prestigious Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), where his research focuses on developing high-protein legume varieties for sustainable food and feed systems. His academic journey also includes advanced training in plant biotechnology, plant protection, and plant breeding from institutions across Africa and Europe, supported by competitive scholarships such as the European Union’s Genes Project Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme and the Russian Open Door Scholarship. A prolific author and grant writer, Ebube has published extensively on topics ranging from machine learning in legume production and IoT-enabled precision agriculture to nanotechnology in herbicide development. His recent work includes pioneering contributions to the conceptualization of the Smart Bean GSI—a portable, AI-driven seed grader and phenotyping system designed to empower farmers, breeders, and agri-labs worldwide. With hands-on experience in tissue culture, mushroom breeding, legume collection, and remote sensing technologies, Ebube combines deep scientific expertise with a practical understanding of on-farm challenges. His leadership is driven by a commitment to democratizing agricultural technology, improving working conditions for farmers, and advancing food security through innovation. Under his guidance, the company is developing cutting-edge tools that integrate artificial intelligence, robotics, and data analytics to transform seed sorting, grading, and breeding—making precision agriculture accessible to all.

Dr. Lauretta Nwanneka Ofodile

Biological Scientist

Dr. Ofodile, Lauretta Nwanneka is a Chief Lecturer, Department of Biological Science, Yaba College of Technology. She served as the Director, College Central Research Laboratory (2018-2022), Head, Department of Biological Sciences (2009-2012), Yaba College of Technology, Yaba-Lagos, Nigeria. She is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee, TETFund Center of Excellence on Research and Skills Development, Yaba College of Technology. She is a Botanist with specialization in mycology and mushroom biotechnology. Her PhD research was carried out at the Biological Interaction Laboratory, Kew Botanic Garden, United Kingdom where she trained in techniques in natural product chemistry. She has over 45 scholarly articles in local and international journals to her credit. Her research areas include waste management, mushroom production technology, and natural product chemistry for drug production from mushrooms and plants. Dr. Ofodile is a multiple grant award winner. Some of her awards, scholarships, and research grants include 2024 French Embassy Fund (FEF) on plastic waste management, 2024 TETFUND National Research Fund, 2020 National Research Fund-TETFUND grant, Innovate Lagos Research Grant 2014 by Lagos State Government for investigation into Ganoderma mushrooms against breast cancer cells. Netherland Fellowship on climate change mitigation and control 2012, MASHAV (State of Israel) Fellowship on integrated pest management and control 2003, Institutional Educational Trust Fund Research Grant (TETFUND) 2013, 2015, 2024. Some of the TVET innovations and projects led by Dr Ofodile include Fabrication of a plastic recycling Hub, a plastic shredder, a gasifier, a reverse vending machine (Plastic ATM), Training of over 500 people in plastic upcycling (cutting board, paving blocks, furniture) and recycling (gas and briquette). Education and awareness of 3 LCDS in Lagos State on plastic management, Open Educational Resources on Learning management System using the FEF Grant. Formulation of anti-liver cancer (HEPG2 Cell) herbs, Formulation of anti-breast cancer cell herbs, using TETFund (NRF) grant. The development of a mushroom research and training laboratory with World Bank Innovators of Tomorrow (IOT) grant in 2011. She is one of the 2023 Awardees of UKaid prototype and startup fundings for innovation to market project through Research Innovation System for Africa (RISA) fund. Her MVP called Fungigro, is presently undergoing validation. She is a member of some professional bodies which includes the British Mycological Society, Society for Fungi conservation, International Mycological Association, Botanical Association of Nigeria, Organisation for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) and Organisation of African Academic Doctors (OAAD). She has two patents for her credit.

As a key member of our laboratory team, she supports research and development activities with precision, care, and a commitment to scientific excellence. Ngozi holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with Second Class Upper Division honors and has undergone specialized training in laboratory techniques and human resource management. Her academic research includes a published comparative study on the proximate composition of African legumes, reflecting her interest in sustainable nutrition and food science. In her role, Ngozi assists in sample preparation, data documentation, and experimental procedures essential to the development of our seed grading and phenotyping technologies. Her keen analytical skills and proactive approach ensure that laboratory operations run smoothly and accurately, contributing directly to the reliability and innovation of our products. Dedicated to teamwork and continuous learning, Ngozi brings both scientific rigor and collaborative spirit to our mission of advancing smart agriculture through technology and research.
